How to use the Organize PDF
- Drop your PDF onto the box or click to choose it. Each page appears as a numbered thumbnail.
- Drag a page to its new position. On a phone, drag it by the grip in its top-left corner; with a keyboard, use the arrow buttons under the page.
- Use the buttons under any page to rotate it or remove it, or click Reverse order for documents scanned back to front.
- Click Save organized PDF to download the document in its new order.

When page order goes wrong
Page order problems usually come from the way documents are assembled. A sheet-feeding scanner can capture a stack back to front. Merging several files puts each one in a block, when you may want them interleaved. A late signature page gets scanned separately and appended to the end instead of slotting into place. Reorganizing fixes all of these without going back to the paper.
Three ways to move a page
Drag and drop
With a mouse or pen, press on any part of a page thumbnail and drag it. A faded placeholder shows where it will land, and the other pages shift to make room. Near the top or bottom of the window, the page scrolls automatically, so you can move a page from the end of a long document to the start in one movement.
Touch
On phones and tablets, swiping over the thumbnails scrolls the page as usual. To move a page, put your finger on the small grip handle in its top-left corner and drag from there. Separating the two gestures avoids moving pages by accident while you scroll.
Buttons and keyboard
Every page has buttons to move it one place earlier or later, rotate it a quarter turn clockwise, and remove it. They can be reached with the Tab key and pressed with Enter or Space, and a status message announces each change to screen readers. Press Escape during a drag to cancel it.
Reading the thumbnails
| You see | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Large number under a page | Its position in the new document |
| “was 7” | The page’s position in the original file |
| Badge such as 90° | How far the page will be rotated when you save |
The status line above the grid summarizes everything you have changed: whether the order is different, and how many pages are rotated or removed. Reset discards all changes and shows the original order again.
What gets saved
When you save, the pages are copied into a new PDF in the order shown, with each page’s rotation applied. Content is copied exactly, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Removed pages are left out of the new file completely. The document title and author carry over, while bookmarks are not kept, because they would point to pages in their old positions.
Tips
- To interleave two separately scanned stacks (fronts and backs), merge them first, then drag each back page after its front.
- For long documents where you only need to remove pages, Delete PDF Pages lets you type ranges instead of clicking.
- Only rotating? Rotate PDF can turn all odd, even or landscape pages at once.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move a page on my phone?
Touch and hold the grip handle in the top-left corner of the page thumbnail and drag it to its new place. Swiping elsewhere scrolls normally.
Can I reorder pages without a mouse?
Yes. Tab to the arrow buttons under a page and press Enter to move it one place earlier or later. Rotate and remove buttons work the same way.
Does reorganizing change the quality of my PDF?
No. Pages are copied into the new order exactly as they are, so text, images and fonts are unchanged.
Can I undo my changes?
Click Reset to return to the original order with no rotations or removals. Your original file is never modified.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Thumbnails are drawn and the new file is built in your browser, so the document stays on your device.
